What France should have been

This map describes a France with borders very similar to my previous European map, but the timeline is different.

If you look carefully at the territories (a territory is the greatest administrative division of France in this timeline), you'll see that they are inspired by the former provinces of the kingdom of France, sometimes gathered if they were too small, but following the borders of the French departments inherited from the Revolution.

Main alternative events of this timeline :
- In 1830 the Belgian revolution leads to a partition of Belgium : the South to France, the North to the Netherlands and the Luxembourg to Prussia.
- The prince Ferdinand-Philippe of Orléans, heir to the Kingdom of the French, isn't killed in an accident in 1842.
- This territorial annexation, and the survival of a prince liked by the people, make it easier to keep alive the July Monarchy after the Spring of Nations in 1848.
- During the next years, France and Austria understand the necessity of going deeper into their friendship and decide to forge a strong alliance making impossible a complete unification of Italy and making easier the partition of Switzerland during the Swiss civil war.
- However, the strong Prussia isn't stopped in its ambitions and in 1865 the war for the domination of Germany breaks out between Prussia and Austria, and of course their allies (France and German states).
- At the start of the conflict, the Prussian army is without doubt better than the Austrian one and even the French one. But unity makes strength and after 4 years of intense fighting, Prussia is after all defeated and Germany restructured as a French-Austrian sphere of influence.
